The line 4 will be equipped with interlocking on the following section:
Origin <-> Schwarzschild Street <-> Lusin Street on Line 4
in preparation for the start of mainline train operations on the Main
Station <> Personhood line. The newly equipped line could be operated as
follows:
- Half the trains end at Lusin street, the other half at Schwarzschild
Street
- Passing tracks will be built at strategic places, such as Minkowski
street, to allow fast trains to pass the subway trains.
Alternatively, the service north of Schwarzschild street could be taken
over by a new commuter train service starting from Spawn, calling at
Lesnoi, Anju Crossing, Schwarzschild and all line 4 stations, but this
will also probably require construction of passing tracks at strategic
points of the line.
Due to construction work having already started, the plan with the
continuation of Line 4 has been discarded, so the stations on the line
will be served by a new commuter service leaving from spawn main
station.
The new Schwarzschildt station is set up in a way that trains on line 4
can easily continue onto the main track line, and I indeed thought about
forwarding single trains to Lusin Street.
If the E trains operate in 5-minutes intervals, I guess we'll only need
a single passing track. Thinking about ehlodex: If we make the commuter
train terminate at Ehlodex, there's no point in making the express train
stop at Lusin Street. So, Lusin Street would have been abandoned. Maybe
rather make a third platform at Lusin Street...
