When leaving a (passender) wagon at a platform you are dropped on the

tracks. Walking/jumping on the platform brings you often back into the

train.

I have rechecked the this bug:

1. leaving via the menu dropps you onto the tracks, this is for me the

typical way to leave a train from the driver stand

2.leaving a passenger wagon with "walking out" dropped me afew minutes

ago onto the tracks (North Harbour, line 1)

3. Leaving with [sneak]+eis dangerous, because automatic trains could

suddenly start direct after leaving,so this is no option to use

As I see that until now no reaction to this bug and also no

bugfix, may I consider that using advtrains as way to transport players

will be deprecated?

Sorry that I didn't confirm that, but yes, the bug exists and I'm clearly aware of it. It's just that my time is limited at the moment and I haven't found the source of it yet.

It seems that the bug is now solved, but it looks from the ways I see

how it works like a hack to me:

- I open the train menu with a right click and click on the button to

leave the train

- a short delay

- I'm dropped on the tracks

- a short delay

- I'm moved onto the platform

The delays are depending on lag, so it seems that the "leaving train"

is a two step function.

Underlying issue https://github.com/minetest/minetest/pull/10235 is

fixed upstream. Needs testing with 5.4.0 once released. We may get rid

of the minetest.after then.
